Thirteen people climbed to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on Friday, February 13th, 2009. We raised $90,000.00 for the Hereditary Disease Foundation. After reaching the highest point in Africa, we took a safari. Below are pictures of the glorious mountain we hiked, the wonderful faces we saw, and the wild animals we encountered while in Tanzania, Africa.

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA, graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Sociology, and studied photojournalism at Brooks Institute of Photography in California. I worked at The Seattle Times for two years as a photographer. I then lived in Gainesville, FL and worked for the University of Florida News Bureau doing photography for the 2009 school year. I am now back at The Seattle Times as a photographer.
